Make Up For Ever!!!

I know... I know... It has been a while.  Since I haven't updated in a while, I can talk about anything, right?  There is no format for this blog, so let's switch it up!  Let's talk makeup!!!

This past weekend, I decided it was time to treat myself.  I did a little retail therapy in Sephora, aka my earthly heaven, and I decided to try some new brands on my basic makeup items.  I stayed with the same brand for the basics, MAKE UP FOR EVER.

First is the Make Up For Ever Primer. After I clean my face, I let this be my moisturizer.  My skin is very oily and the more moisturizer I use, the more touch ups I have to do to make it to the end of the day.  Primers help your skin glow and prepares your skin  for the concealer and foundation to go on easily.  This line has seven different primers for different skin types.  They are $32.

Second, I use concealer.  This can be a second or third step.  It just depends on how much concealer you need.  If you tend to have a lot of redness or blemish spots, I would use this first.  This way you can make sure all of the spots you want to be covered are covered.  If you use it second, don't put too much foundation over the concealer, then you are just wasting product.  Also, make sure you get the right shade.  You don't want to look like a raccoon!!!  The concealer is $28.
Next, I use HD foundation.  I did some research on foundations and that is what made me decide to go with this line.  It is oil free, light weight, full coverage, and has more color in its products than anything else.  With the oil issue I have, I need the foundation to last the majority of the day.  I didn't want it to be thick and "caky".  I have had issues in the past of my foundation not blending.  With this product, that isn't a problem.  The foundation is $40.
Last for the basics, is the HD Microfinish Powder.  This sets the foundation and gives you a glow.  It is translucent and can go on any skin tone shade.  I love it.  It gives a soft, natural, flawless look.  It can also be worn by itself!  This is $15, for the "To Go" bottle.
Once I had the basics, I decided to keep looking.  Sephora offers so many different products, and I am sad that I probably won't get to try them all.  I did find one last good find...
Smashbox Artificial Light Luminizing Powder.  This product is fabulous!  I am using it as an eyebrow highlighter and a highlighter on my cheek bones.  It makes my eyes pop and makes my skin glow.  I fell in love when I first used it. It is $20.

I am falling in love with makeup more and more everyday, and I love learning new tricks.  If you have any, feel free to post.  Or post your favorite finds, what works for you, and what doesn't.  I would love for this to become a makeup forum, but I think we are going to need more than 7 members. Ha! I am lame...  Please post and invite others!!
